"In Burgundy, when we talk about a Climate, we don't look up to the sky, we lower our eyes to the earth" BERNARD PIVOT, WRITER AND PRESIDENT OF THE SUPPORT COMMITTEE

In Burgundy, a Climat is a wine-growing terroir combining parcel, grape variety and know-how The word "Climate" does not refer to the weather but corresponds to a specifically Burgundian term that refers to the wine-growing terroir.

Each Climat de Bourgogne is a carefully delimited parcel of vines, named for centuries, which has its history and benefits from meteorological and geological conditions. Each wine from a Climat has its own taste and its place in the hierarchy of wines (Appellation Régionale, Village, Premier Cru, Grand Cru). The Climates are more than 1000 to succeed each other on a thin ribbon running from Dijon to Santenay, south of Beaune; some responding to famous names in which you will pass, running or rollerblading, as Chambertin, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot...
